Privacy Policy

• We don't run any accounts, logins, or user databases.
• Your gameplay data — guesses, streak, stats — stays in your browser's local storage. We can't read it.
• We use Google Analytics and Google AdSense to measure traffic and serve a small number of ads. Both respect the cookie choice you make in the banner.
• You can reset everything at any time by clearing site data.

We store a handful of keys in localStorage under the jjd: namespace. These keys keep the game playable across reloads:

• jjd:v1 — Zustand persistence blob containing your current puzzle guesses, play status, streak, max streak, and win distribution.
• jjd:seenHelp — marker so the how-to-play modal doesn't auto-open for returning visitors.
• jjd:consent — your Accept / Decline response to the cookie banner.

None of this data ever leaves your device. There is no backend endpoint that receives it.

We run Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, how they get here, and which pages they read. GA4 is configured with Google's Consent Mode v2, so:

• Before you make a choice on the cookie banner, GA only sends anonymised, cookie-less pings.
• If you accept, GA sets the standard _ga and _ga_* cookies for up to two years and receives your page views with an anonymised ID.
• If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
• We never pass personal identifiers (email, name, IP) to GA. IP anonymisation is on by default for GA4.

We display a small number of ads through Google AdSense to cover hosting costs. Ads only load after you accept advertising cookies in the banner.

• If you decline, Google serves only non-personalised ads — the content you see is based on context, not on a profile.
• If you accept, Google may use cookies to show you personalised ads that are more relevant.
• Either way, Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing — read it at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Because we don't keep any personal database, most data rights are satisfied by simply clearing your browser storage. Still, you have the right to:

• Access — every piece of data we hold about you lives in your own browser; open DevTools → Application → Local Storage → jojodle.org to see it.
• Delete — clearing site data (or removing the jjd:* keys) permanently erases everything on our side.
• Object / withdraw consent — click the cookie banner's Decline button (or clear jjd:consent to see it again) to stop Google Analytics and AdSense from setting cookies.
• Complain — EU / UK visitors can lodge a complaint with their national data protection authority.
• CCPA (California) Do Not Sell / Share — declining the banner has the same effect as a Do Not Sell signal; no personal information is shared with Google AdSense for cross-site advertising purposes.

We keep nothing on our servers. Third-party retention windows:

• Google Analytics 4 event data is retained for the minimum GA4 option (2 months for user-level data, 14 months for events).
• Google AdSense cookies have their own lifetimes, documented on the cookie policy page.

JoJodle is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data through our site, contact us and we'll take appropriate action.

Character portraits and names are used under fair use for editorial commentary on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise. All character designs remain the property of Hirohiko Araki, Shueisha, and related rights holders. JoJodle is an unofficial fan project.

Material changes will be dated at the top of this page. Non- material edits (typos, link fixes) are made silently.
